From his appearance in Hinterland to discussions surrounding his personal life, this article explores everything currently known about Alex Harries, including his acting career, age, rumored family connections, relationship status, and links to fellow Welsh stars like Hannah Daniel and Mali Harries.
Who Is Alex Harries?
Alex Harries is a Welsh actor best known for appearing in the internationally successful crime drama Hinterland, known in Welsh as Y Gwyll. The series became one of Wales’ most celebrated television exports and introduced viewers worldwide to a darker, atmospheric style of detective storytelling set against the dramatic landscapes of Aberystwyth.
In Hinterland, Alex Harries portrayed DC Lloyd Ellis, a police officer working alongside the main investigative team. While the show focused heavily on Richard Harrington’s character DCI Tom Mathias, supporting actors such as Alex Harries helped create the authentic and emotionally grounded atmosphere that made the series so successful.
Unlike many modern celebrities, Alex Harries has remained relatively private, choosing to let his acting work speak for itself rather than maintaining a highly public online presence. This mystery surrounding his personal life has only increased curiosity among fans.
Alex Harries and Hinterland
For many viewers, Hinterland remains the project most strongly associated with Alex Harries. The crime drama premiered in 2013 and quickly developed a loyal following thanks to its cinematic visuals, psychological storytelling, and strong performances.
The cast included:

- Mali Harries as DI Mared Rhys
- Alex Harries as DC Lloyd Ellis
The chemistry among the cast members contributed greatly to the show’s critical acclaim. Audiences appreciated the realistic relationships between the detectives, while the bleak Welsh landscapes gave the series a distinct Nordic-noir-inspired feel.
Alex Harries may not have been the lead actor, but his role added depth and realism to the investigative team. Fans of the show continue searching for information about him years after the series ended, proving the lasting impact of Hinterland.
Alex Harries Age
One of the most searched questions online is related to Alex Harries’ age. However, there is currently no officially confirmed public birth date available for the actor.
Unlike some celebrities who openly discuss their personal lives, Alex Harries has maintained a low profile regarding family details, birthdays, and personal milestones. Because of this, many websites and fan pages speculate about his age without verified sources.
For journalists and bloggers, it is generally best to state that:
Alex Harries has kept his personal information private, and his exact age has not been publicly confirmed.
This careful wording avoids spreading inaccurate information while still addressing public curiosity.

However, his name appears in cast listings and entertainment databases connected to Welsh television productions. Fans looking for information about him often find references through:
